“I Am” by Monrose pushed back

“I Am”, the third studio album by German girl-group Monrose (left to right; Mandy, Bahar and Senna) is pushed back again! The album was originally to be released July 7, was then pushed back to July 11, then August 18, then September 12, and now October 3. Also, the album’s second single “Hit ‘N’ Run” is pushed back one week, to September 26. What’s with all these push-backs lately?

David Archuleta news

American Idol seaseon 7 runner-up David Archuleta has made a BIG debut on the Billboard charts with his first single “Crush”. The Emanuel Kiriakou-produced song debuted at #2 in the Hot 100, behind Rihanna’s smash-hit “Disturbia”. It has sold 166,427 copies and debuted at #1 in the Hot Digital Sales. This is the biggest debut for a non-AI-related single by a contestant! Let’s hope the song reaches #1 next week, or when the video comes out. The video doesn’t have a release date yet, but is rumored to debut mid-September.

Album news! his first album is set to be released by the end of September or the beginning of October. Two new songs were recently registrated on ASCAP: “My Hands” (written by Zukhan Bey, James Edward Fauntleroy III and Emanuel Kiriakou) and “Ruined Me” (written by Jess Clayton Cates, Joshua Scott Chasez, Emanuel Kiriakou and Lindy Robbins). Two songs likely to be produced by Emanuel Kiriakou, and the second rumored to be a collaboration with JS Chasez (ex-*NSYNC)… But nothing’s official (except the songs’ names and their writers) yet, so the songs might not even be included in his album.

Darin Zanyar vs. Leona Lewis – Homeless

When Leona Lewis released her album “Spirit” by the end of last year, I was immediately in love with a track called “Homeless”, it’s still one of my favorite tracks on the album. When I discovered Swedish singer Darin (yes, another Swedish artist, and no, I’m not from Sweden), I downloaded his latest album “Break The News”, of which track 12 is also called “Homeless”. Quite a shock to find out it was completely the same song! And Darin’s version is the original. His version was released in 2006, Leona’s in 2007.

It’s Britney, Bitch!

By now every one of you knows Britney Spears made a cameo appearance in Madonna’s Sticky & Sweet World Tour. During “Human Nature”, Britney’s… uhm… dancing and walking around in an elevator, and at the end – my favorite part of the video – says her legendary words: “it’s Britney, bitch!” Watch the Sticky & Sweet cameos after the jump (just click ”continue reading…” and you’ll get there)!

In other Britney news, she WON’T perform at the VMA’s this year, which I think is a good thing! Right now she just has to concentrate on making a fantastic new album (according to Brit herself it will her best ever!) and spending the little time she can spend with her kids. She’s healthy, she’s happy, she’s BACK! And on September 16 Britney goes to court (again!) to try to get more visitation, or maybe completely get her kids back! We’ll root for ya, Brit!

Confirmed producers for her next album (according to rumors, it will be called “Unstoppable” or “Under My Control”, no name has been confirmed so far) are Jonathan “J.R.” Rotem, Sean Garrett, Guy Sigsworth, Nate Hills (aka Danja), Bloodshy & Avant, Junkie XL and Rodney Jerkins (aka Darkchild).

Jive Records should be carefull now! Britney has already recorded a lot of demos, and we all know this equals leak danger! If demos leak, you will NOT find them here, unless they are confirmed as real DEMOS (so they don’t get on the album).

Let’s kick things off with brand new music from my favorite Swedish female singer!

“On And On” is Agnes Carlsson’s first single from her upcoming, yet untitled third studio album (to be released this autumn), and her fifth single overall. The song was released on August 11 in Sweden, and has debuted at 47.
